Wow! Die Zeichnungen erinnern stark an Richard Corben, aber richtig begeistert hat mich der Wortanteil dieses Buches! Man muss in der deutschen Comic-Landschaft lange suchen, wenn man Dialoge lesen möchte, die nicht zum tausendsten Mal altbekannte Klischees wiederkäuen. Dieses Buch hingegen ist unglaublich gut geschrieben. Dazu das Tempo der Erzählung und man hat einen Comic in einer Qualität, die man selbst bei Splitter kein zweites Mal findet.
Der Protagonist, ein schwarzer Marshall, jagd im vom Bürgerkrieg versehrten amerikanischen Westen eine Verbrecherbande. Die Handlungstränge sind nicht immer nachvollziehbar, beispielsweise rennt der Marshall beim Showdown trotz Familie in den sicheren Tod (dem er dann zufälligerweise zu entfliehen vermag). Ein bisschen mehr Raffinesse hätte dem Charakter gut getan.Überhaupt nicht gefallen haben mir die Zeichnungen und Kolorierung. Die Gesichter erinnern mich an schnell gekritzelte Karikaturen. Ich suche in einem Western-Comic jedoch Detailreichtum und sorgfältige Zeichnungen, die zum Verweilen anregen.Ich kann das Comic nicht empfehlen.
